Sandu Liberman

  Sandu Liberman was born in 1923 in Yasi, Romania. In 1952 he won the Gold Medal at the International Art Festival in Romania. Shortly thereafter he was appointed to illustrate the Encyclopedia of Romania and was designated as the Official Portrait Artist of Romania. In 1962, Liberman relocated to Israel. The government of Israel commissioned him to paint portraits on numerous occasions. Liberman has even painted a portrait of the President of Guinea which hangs in the Royal Palace.
